"Make it hit."
Stop stacking a transient shaper, an EQ, a saturator, a compressor and a mono tool just to make one 808 land. 8008 runs 7 purpose-built processors at once - band-split transient design, sub-fundamental boost, eight saturation characters, one-knob dynamics, phase-perfect mono bass, lo-fi character and a brickwall limiter - every one of them tuned for the 30-150Hz region where an 808 actually lives. One plugin in. A finished, punishing low end out.
"Sharpen the attack. Never touch the sub."
A normal transient shaper works on the whole signal - push the attack and you smear the fundamental with it. 8008's Transient Designer works inside a frequency band you choose. Set it above your sub, and you can add 18dB of snap to the click while the low end underneath stays completely untouched. Hit MONITOR to solo the band you're shaping so you can hear exactly what you're grabbing. Cut the sustain instead and a long 808 becomes a tight kick in one knob.
"Every 808 has one frequency that matters."
The 808 Booster is a musical bell filter locked to 30-150Hz - exactly where sub fundamentals sit. Sweep FREQ with a narrow Q until the note jumps out, then widen it until the bass just sounds bigger. Up to +18dB when you need the fundamental to dominate a mix, or a gentle wide lift when you just want weight. It's the difference between an 808 you hear and an 808 you feel.
"From barely warm to completely destroyed."
One knob, eight hand-coded saturation characters, ordered gentle to extreme so turning it walks a continuous arc instead of jumping between unrelated sounds. SOFT and ATAN for clean warmth. HARMONIC adds targeted third harmonic so your bass reads on phone speakers. TUBE and DIODE for asymmetric analogue grit. HARD, FOLD and GROWL when you want the 808 to sound broken on purpose. Drive is fully gain-compensated - more drive means more harmonics, not just more volume.
"Because sub bass doesn't forgive a bad attack time."
At 40-60Hz a single waveform cycle lasts 16-25 milliseconds. Set a compressor attack faster than that and it stops tracking the envelope and starts chewing the waveform - that's distortion and pumping, not compression. So PUNCH moves threshold, ratio, attack and release together along a curve that physically cannot go wrong on an 808. Makeup gain is computed from the actual compression maths, deliberately set just under full compensation so louder never fools you into thinking it's better. Pull the Mix back for true parallel punch.
"Every other mono tool leaves a hole. This one can't."
Standard mono-makers split with a lowpass and a highpass. Those two filters phase-shift differently, so where they meet you get a dip and a smear - a hollow spot right in the crossover. 8008 uses one filter. The high band is defined as whatever the lowpass didn't take, so the two halves always sum back to exactly your original signal. Mathematically phase-perfect at every setting. Club-ready, vinyl-ready, no artefacts, no compromise.
"Not a noise floor. A living one."
Most lo-fi plugins bolt on a constant hiss that's loudest when nothing's playing. LEGENDARY modulates its tape hiss with your signal's own envelope - it swells on hits and recedes into silence, exactly like real tape. Add DIGITAL to crush from 16 bits down to 3 for authentic early-sampler grit, then use the steep 24dB/oct LPF to tame the aliasing your waveshaper just created. Vintage character that reacts to your playing instead of sitting on top of it.
"From barely-there to genuinely violent."
CLEAN for glue you'd never notice. PUNCH for trap and drill knock. PHAT for slow, enormous low end. GRIT for saturation-forward aggression. LOFI for tape and cassette character. EXTREME when you want to hurt someone's monitors. Every preset stores its bypass states too - stages that aren't contributing are switched fully off, so you can see at a glance which processors a sound depends on and save the CPU.
Seven processors, 88 presets, zero latency, lifetime updates. After 72 hours it goes to full price and stays there.
